New Alpinestar gear!

Johor test

Just came back from the Johor test, it was one of the best weeks of my entire life!
The speed, the grip and the thrill.. perfect! This was the moment i had been waiting for so long..
Finally, I took it, did my best on whatever i could and I have got to say I am quite satisfied with myself over the training days. But not being complacent, I must work smarter and improve myself in ways that I cannot imagine. Oh well, I just told myself to be open-minded and learn as much as i could manage. I have learnt alot during my time in Johor and certainly looking forward to my test in Sepang which would be held from 18th of November to 20th November.

Pictures of the test could be found on my facebook profile :)

Singapore trip

During my trip to the Singapore F1 grand prix, I was really excited on watching the Formula BMW race and of course, the Formula 1 race. I could feel the adrenalin rush as the cars flew past my balcony outside my hotel. What an experience! The cars somehow looks more interesting and "bigger"when seen in real life compared to the the TV. All i could say was that it was a once-in-a-lifetime trip to observe how a race is really carried out during a GP weekend. The atmosphere was so lively and happening.. with celebs like Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas giving off concerts and they were performing till the late hours into the night.

After watching the formula BMW race, i somehow felt so much more motivated to work harder and achieve high standards through observing the way how drivers from all around the world race in this legendary circuit. The winner of this race was Felipe Nasr from Brazil, who is the Formula BMW european champion. The final race saw him pulling away from his opponents relentlessly and producing faster laptimes lap after lap. I could see how focused he was under his helmet.

Feeling more motivated, I began observing all the aspects of what makes a perfect racing driver. I began watching my diet, working out much more frequently by going to the gym or swimming and preparing myself mentally for the oncoming test in Johor. I hope that the Johor test would be a brilliant learning curve for me to adapt and get comfortable with the formula BMW car! Cheers!

Testing!

Finally, i got my dream and Christmas wish! I would be participating in a Formula BMW test with Pacific Racing at Johor this coming school term break! Woo hoo! It's going to be a blast! Getting all my Alpinestars overalls and taking a step closer to my far-fetched dream, great! But before that, it involved so much effort from so many people and i would like to thank them for all they have done. First of all, i would like to pay my biggest thanks to God for even allowing me to have such an opportunity sitting in front of me. Of course, my heart goes out to my family who sacrificed so much for me and I just want to prove to myself that I can do it and made sure all the time and effort was well paid off. Finally, big thank you for Pacific Racing for allowing me to have such a fantastic opportunity and hope to produce promising test and race results with them!
During this year, I have joined a racing school entitled Petronas Formula Xperience (PFX) that was of course, funded and managed by Petronas. Through this program I have learnt a great deal of useful tips that could help me to become an aspiring race driver. I was put through fitness regimes, media classes, technical lessons and of course, driving the car (which was a Formula BMW). I enjoyed myself alot through this exposure, eventhough I was always under preassure to learn and adapt faster. But oh well, season's over and I just hope i am able to fulfill my dream of joining the grid of the Formula BMW pacific series next year and doing extremely well in order to set up a stable foundation for the further steps to come!

This picture was taken at Indrapura Karting circuit in Pekan. This was arguably one of my toughest and a "milestone" for my karting days. The track had an indeed challenging layout and the track surface was slippery yet interesting to race on. To make things worst, it was a street circuit. Not being behind the wheel of a go-kart for some period of time caused further complications due to my participation in the Petronas Formula Xperience racing school 2009 season which collided with some of my kart races. However, I have learned alot through being exposed to greater challenges imposed by other asian drivers. Overall , i felt this race was pretty good as i managed to finished on the podium with an average finish of 5th place.. Looking back, I promised myself I would prepare myself more thoroughly next time and produce a more inspiring result :)
